Download the BCHSRA GRAD BANQUET QUESTIONAIRE 2013 here GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION Once the BC scholarship application forms are received, all applicants go through an interview process at finals and the scholarship committee distributes the scholarship funds to all the students that have applied as evenly as possible. They do not apply for any one particular scholarship, so unless an actual scholarship is designated for a certain winner (such as rookie or saddle bronc rider, etc.) they just apply for funds in general. The interview committee then distributes what funds are available. Also, there are event scholarships in which, all event winners at BC Finals will receive $250 scholarships. So if a member wins an event in grade 9 ($250), nothing in grade 10, 2 events in grade 11 ($500) and 3 events in grade 12 ($750), they would be eligible for $1500 in event scholarships when they show proof of enrolment in post secondary within 2 years following graduation. Download application form here.
Attached is a revised copy of the Cinch Scholarship Application that was sent out previously. The ONLY change to the document was the removal of the requirement that the scholarship is open to US Citizens Only. This is NOT the case; the scholarship is available to our entire membership regardless of where they are from.

Lawrence Bruce Memorial $1000.00 Lawrence Bruce was a good all round, ranch cowboy who could turn his hand to most tasks to some degree or another, although he was especially gifted when it came to horses. He was born into a rodeo family in High River, Alberta and excelled in saddle bronc, but could also walk away with an all-round award – on what he claimed was a good day. Being patient, understanding, focused and determined gave him the personality it takes to be a really good horseman and a wonderful father. He loved kids and when he watched the High School Rodeo kids trying so hard, enjoying their friends and handling their animals well, you would glimpse a little extra brightness to his eyes. But those old cowboys don’t cry, do they? Lawrence admired true effort and focus to the task at hand (no matter what the task was). He admired congeniality, helpfulness & good sportsmanship. Most of us learn too late in life that the whole point in life is the journey towards the goal. Lawrence knew this and made everyday special for the rest of us. This award is for the student who demonstrates dedication, courage, reliability, consideration and caring for others. This person is not afraid to try hard and also make time to help others. Lawrence would be very pleased to award this scholarship. Recipient: Hayden Huxley Raymond Kerr Memorial $750.00 Represented our province at the National Level for many years, and his legacy to the sport of rodeo continues to live on through not only his children, but his grandchildren carrying on the tradition and dedication to the sport of rodeo – there is no greater honour than having your values continue. The recipient does not necessarily have to be a competing member.
