The BCRA permit membership allows each member to compete at three (3) BCRA approved rodeos and have one (1) local BCRA rodeo. BCRA permit holders may then upgrade to a full membership by paying the difference between a permit and full card at the end of their four rodeo’s and all money won from being a permit holder will count towards the season standings. In order for the permit money to count towards the season standings, you must upgrade to a full membership before the next rodeo you plan on entering. If you qualify as a junior in the BCRA (15 years of age and under as of January 1st), then you may receive a free junior membership which allows you to attend all BCRA rodeos in the junior events. Any junior wishing to compete in the open events must purchase a full membership. I have enclosed a 2013 BCRA Membership Application and Waiver Release Form. If you are interested in receiving this free membership, please fill out the enclosed forms and send back to the BCRA office either by fax or mail and we will issue you a BCRA membership card. All paperwork must be submitted to the BCRA office no later than the Monday before the entry date of a BCRA rodeo. May 01 2012 Good Afternoon, I have attached information concerning our first Annual Alumni Reunion to be held in Rock Springs at our High School Finals. I have also attached an ad pertaining to our trailer auction to be held during the Foundation Auction at the High School Finals. The last attachment is information on our upcoming On Line Stallion Breeding Auction to begin October 2012 and go through January 2013. The web site in under construction and will be completed shortly, which will provide information for donors as well as potential buyers. I will get that information out at that time. We wanted to get the word out in advance but if you have a need for immediate information for either donors or buyers, just let me know. My request is that if you have an avenue to spread the word, whether by web site, face book or mailings, we would appreciate your help. This will greatly benefit The Association by means of awards, scholarships, and other programs for our members. I will follow up tomorrow with one more, and that would be a customer wrapped, chrome wheel Heel-O-Matic machine. Tickets and the machine will be available for viewing and purchasing at our Junior and High School Finals. As always, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks for all you do for The National High School Rodeo Association. Hoping your rodeo year is going well!

MARINO Nov. 3, 1931 - Mar. 3, 2011 POZZOBON, Marino, of Merritt, BC, passed away peacefully March 3, 2011. Marino was born November 3, 1931 at RIH in Kamloops, BC. He was the son of the late Samuel and Assunta Pozzobon of Pemberton Range. Marino is survived by his loving wife Joni, sons Mark of Savona, BC and Luke (Leanne) of Merritt, BC, brothers Mackie (Rita), Freedy (Jean), sisters-in-law Lillian Pozzobon and Eileen (Herman) Harrison and brother-in-law Lloyd McNary and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful Nono to Derek, Cole, Carman, Madeline, Ty and Amy. He was predeceased by his daughter Lynn Mobbs (2006), sister Maria McNary and brother Sammy. Marino worked on the family farm at Pinantan and then logged with his brothers. He started “rodeoing” as a young man competing in bareback riding and calf roping. Marino married Joni on March 16, 1957 and ranched in the Pritchard and Pemberton Range area until they moved to the Nicola Valley in 1966 with their three children. They lived in the Canford area where they ranched and owned a fencing business. Marino’s pride and joy was watching his children and grandchildren compete in rodeo. Marino’s Celebration of Life will be held in Merritt at the Crossroads Community Church on Tuesday, March 22 at 1 p.m. with Trinity United Church Minister Kathleen Jones offi ciating. In lieu of fl owers contributions may be made to: BC High School Rodeo Association, Box 584, Merritt, BC, V1K 1B8. Feb 26th at 1pm at the Overlander in Williams Lake - Agenda now posted! Feb. 08 2011 Please Note the NEW Fax Number for High School Rodeo Report Cards is: 1-250-827-3790 Report Cards Due: February 15, 2011 May 15, 2011 January 14 2011 British Columbia High School Rodeo Finals move to Williams Lake for 2011 January 11, 2011 The British Columbia High School Rodeo Association is please and excited to announce Williams Lake will be the home and host of the 2011 Provincial Championships for High School Rodeo. This event will take place at the Stampede Grounds on June 10-12, 2011, and will see the top 12 High School Rodeo athletes in each event from the North Region (north of Quesnel) compete with the top 12 athletes from the South Region (Quesnel and south) for the title of BC Champion and the opportunity to earn scholarships and prizes. The top four finishers will also earn a position on the BC Team competing at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette, WY in July and the top five in each event win a position on the BC Team competing at the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals in Virden, MB in August. In November the BC Board of Directors received an offer to host the Provincial Finals Rodeo from long time rodeo committee person, Connie Jasper After a few months of investigating all the options and costs, a decision was finalized this week There were so many good reasons to make this change. One of the biggest reasons is location. Williams Lake is pretty central for our North and South members. Our High School members from the north and south will all have the same equal opportunity to compete at the facility once during the regular season, with the May 6-8, 2011 regular season rodeo being co-approved with both the North and South Regions Last year at the BC Finals in Merritt, the North Region kids didn’t have the opportunity to compete in that arena during the regular season. Of course, Williams Lake and the rodeo people in this town also have the reputation of producing outstanding rodeos at all levels. The BCHSRA is confident this will be a great relationship and we will all be working together to host a quality event for the top High School Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls in the province to compete at. The association is now in its second full season with a two region format. This has allowed competitors to compete closer to home and still have a chance to qualify for the finals. Membership has grown and the number of rodeos has also increased simply because we can have a North Region rodeo on the same weekend as a South Region rodeo, when historically, we had to fit all the rodeos into our short spring and fall seasons. This change to Regions hasn’t also been without some growing pains. The workload for the volunteers behind the scenes has doubled, as far as tracking points, finding sponsors and the number of awards presented goes. BCHSRA has revamped the points format for the finals from what we used last year in the hopes that it also is a better, more fair system. There have been many small changes made over the past couple years and until we know we have systems for two Regions that works to its best ability, there will continue to be many more changes to come. All for the better. The BC High School Rodeo finals weekend on June 10-12, 2011 will also include a Season Leader Awards Reception, Grad and Scholarship Banquet, The Miss BC High School Rodeo Pageant and many more exciting activities. Bids are now being accepted for livestock contractors, goats, cutting stock, judges, timers, and announcer by contacting Sandy Chevallier, BCHSRA President at sandylw@shaw.ca or by calling 250-718-2761. More information is available at www.bchsra.ca January 11, 2011

May 21, 2010 Regarding the Junior Division Grand Entry, we discussed this on the weekend at our Directors Meeting, as the same kids are doing this and there are a few others that would like to be in the grand entry from time to time. Sam said when she’s there she has just been giving a flag to whoever shows up first. We would like it to be like High School starting with the first out in each event and if you need more riders go to the last out in the events. The High School kids post it at the office on a White Board. In HS, it is the Student Secretaries that look after this. For the south, Junior Secretaries are McKenzie Wills and Sophia Rooke. In the north the Jr. Secretaries are Anna Rorison and Mercedes Little. Maybe we could get a junior parent or the HS Executive to oversee this and try to implement this at Quesnel. If someone could take this on, please let me know I will let the Quesnel committee know who that will be. Thanks Sandy May 18, 2010
